FOX Racing kicks off the 2010 season with an impressive line-up of MTB team
athletes.

FOX Racing kicks off the 2010 season with an impressive line-up of MTB team
athletes.

GT Factory:
FOX Racing is excited to announce it's partnering with GT Bicycles MTB team.
GT's long and successful history makes for a perfect pairing with Fox as both
companies have paved the way since 1974.

The FOX supported riders:
*Mick Hannah - The DH phenom who stepped on the podium in the first four World
Cups in '09 after having a year off.
*Eric Carter - The one and only and a true ambassador of the sport.
*Kevin Aiello - The young SoCal ripper that has earned his "Special K"
nick-name.
*Andrew Cho - The bike slayer straight from White Rock BC.
*Marc Beaumont - Slugger continues on with FOX for more fun in 2010.

Said Hannah "I'm really excited to be working with FOX. GT and FOX were at the
top when I started racing 20 years ago and they're still at the top today. I
dreamt of riding for both companies back then and now that's come true. This
racing season is shaping up very well."

Giant Factory:

For 2010 we are stepping up our support of the GIANT MTB team. We are hitting

the gates running with full head to toe support of their DH team consisting of

the tried and true Jared Rando, new addition two-time national DH Champ Duncan

Riffle, and Danny Hart - junior in 09 achieved 3rd place at the World Champs and
was the over all winner at the World Cup. Also proudly supported by FOX are the
pedal-pushing XC heavyweights: Adam Craig, Carl Decker, Oli Beckingsale, and
Kelli Emmet.

Back for more:
Continuing the legacies that they have laid out, Cam McCaul, Kirt Voreis, Aaron
Chase and Jeff Lenosky are all back on board with FOX. We're proud to have these
4 legends of the sport flying the Fox colors. All 4 have been longtime Fox
athletes and have helped shape where we are today. Also staying with FOX is 'The
Croatian Sensation' Mislav Mironovic, he returns with even more enthusiasm this
year than ever before. Back and ripping it up - 951 legend Rich Houseman, Boom
Boom himself Scott Beaumont, and Mike Steidley.

New individual athletes for 2010:
FOX is proud to announce the support of Mitch Ropelato. Only seventeen years
old, Mitch achieved the seemingly impossible in 09 - he became the youngest
Mountaincross National Champion in U.S. history, and his second time ever to a
World Cup event he stood on the podium with a second place medal. Mitch
represents the future of gravity MTB racing and Fox is excited to be a part of
his journey.

The word has been getting around and it's true, Leigh Donovan is back to race
the World Cups again! Even more exciting for us is that she will be representing
FOX. One of the fastest women to ever grace a gravity bike, Leigh has some
impressive results on her resume: 1995 World Champion, 2001 World Cup Champion
and 9 times U.S. National Champion. We look forward to providing her support on
her return to the WC's.

We are also excited to have opened our doors to the following talented rippers -
Ryan Condrashoff, John Hauer, Evan Turpen, Christian Wright, Jordan Lopez, Jon
Wilson, and Tammy Donahugh.

FOX Europe welcomes two young guns Sam Reynolds and Harry Heath to the family.
Sam will bring his enviable style to the Dirt Jump and Slope style scene, and
Harry will be getting loose on the World Cup DH circuit.

We look forward to supporting such an incredible team for the 2010 season and
anticipate great things to come.

Marzocchi 55 RC3 Ti ‘Bomber Purple’ EditionNew for 2010 is a special edition of the Marzocchi 55 RC3 Ti in Bomber Purple.

Previously only given to professional riders such as Brian Lopes & Cedric Gracia the Bomber Purple 55 will be limited to just 50 forks for 2010 and available through official Marzocchi dealers.

The 55 RC3 has proved itself to be truly worthy of the ‘Bomber’ name winning its class 2 years running in Dirt Magazines prestigious ‘Dirt 100’.

The new 2010 version has also shed an incredible 362g over the 09 RC3 by using new optimised internals with a Titanium coil spring and an oil displacing bottom out MDU – not bad for an open bath, coil sprung fork!

Specification includes:

Open bath RC3 damping provides consistent, controllable performance derived from the World Championship winning 888.

New high quality 2 piece bushing with vertical slots for better oil penetration. The bushings are also paired to the stanchions and lower legs to ensure tighter tolerances and smother running – in effect each fork is now blue printed.

Marzocchi new QR20 system, in use it feels like a standard QR lever, but gives you the full security and stiffness of a 20mm bolt up.

With a 3 year warranty with no service stipulations the 2010 range see’s the return of the fit and forget Bomber.

This year Esher Shore had another Jam, backed by Monster Energy! The pimped out monster truck showed up with free Monster energy keeping everyone happy! The whole of the Huckmonkey/ram team attended who started sessioning the berm transfer. Once the jam moved to the big kicker the whole team were pulling some big tricks including Tim’s huge superman winning him one year free membership at Esher Shore! Rory did his usual tyre buzzing tables and Ryan did some nice no foot cans along with no footer to X-ups. Throughout the day plenty of prizes were given to everyone including the spectators, loads of shirts were given out along with sunglasses, stickers, key rings and much more.

The jam this year was good fun for everyone making it a big success. Hopefully next year will bring the same!

My Video from this years Jam:

Austria, 6th April- The best dirt jumpers from all over Europe, the United States and Australia celebrated the beginning of the contest season during the Vienna Air King on April 4th and 5th.

Austria, 6th April- The best dirt jumpers from all over Europe, the United States and Australia celebrated the beginning of the contest season during the Vienna Air King on April 4th and 5th.

The 19 years old Swedish young gun Martin Söderström showed the most stunning tricks and became first. Paul Basagoitia from Minden, USA, secured himself the PANASONIC-Best-Trick-Competition with an excellent 360 tailwhip on the step down at Vienna Air King’s starting tower.

The conditions were just perfect on the first weekend of April: it was not only sunny and warm, but the dirt track and its big sized doubles were also great shaped by the course designer and local Andi Brewi. No wonder that overall 100.000 visitors made their way to the ARGUS Bike Festival, which hosted the Vienna Air King the fourth year in a row. The riders showed the jelling crowds their newest tricks in three runs during the finals on Sunday, whereof the best one counted.

It was Martin Söderström, who had a lot of pressure on his third run since he blew the first two runs. But he was rocking in his last run: a clean 360 at the step down, double tailwhip at the first jump, followed by a 360 on the second, and a bar spin on the third set, as well as a 540 at the quarter pipe. That’s what a winning run should look like – well-deserved, Martin took home 2.500 Euros of prize money and a Panasonic cam.

The German Amir Kabbani also showed a stunning run: no foot can at the step down, no handed Backflip, 360 barspin to x-up, a tailwhip at the last double and a barspin at the quarter. The second place, a Panasonic cam and 1.800 Euros made his day.

Third place was reserved for Paul Basagoitia from the US after showing a 360 at the step down, a backflip at the first set, a 360 one foot to x-up at the second set, and finishing with two tailwhips – one at the last double and one at the quarter. Congrats to the KONA rider, because winning the best trick comp and placing in the Top3 in one event is more than ordinary. The Brits, especially Sam Pilgrim and Lance McDermott, were in great shape, finishing 4th and 5th with tricks like flairs in the quarter (both), a backflip no hand (Sam), a backflip at the step down or a frontflip in the first set (Lance).

It was also Lance, who already stoked the spectators with his huge flair look down at the quarter-pipe during the PANASONIC-Best-Trick-Competition on Saturday afternoon.

The other finalists of the Vienna Air King did their best to impress the crowds. The spectators went nuts and were screaming until the final Top 15 riders of the Vienna Air King 2009 had finished their three runs:

1st Martin Söderström (SWE) NS Bikes
2nd Amir Kabbani (GER) Cannondale
3rd Paul Basagoitia (USA) Kona
4th Sam Pilgrim (GBR) Diamondback
5th Lance McDermott (GBR) Scott
6th Thomas Zejda (CZE) Horsefeathers
7th Sam Reynolds (GBR) DMR
8th Bartosz Obukowicz (POL) NS Bikes
9th Andi Wittmann (GER) Giant
10th Linus Sjöholm (SWE) Scott
11th Ferenc Horváth (HUN) Orbea
12th Daniel Madzia (AUT)
13th Ramon Hunziker (SUI) Specialized
14th Philipp Frühwirth (AUT)
15th Pascal Breitenstein (SUI) Kona

Borderline Events is holding its' second major event from 10th April to 13th April 2009 with a 4x and Downhill race.

Borderline Events is holding its’ second major event from 10th April to 13th April 2009. After a successful first event and with some more potential to race, practice and win, Borderline has again secured sponsorships, great prizes and will deliver another fantastic weekend to remember.

This event will be the ONLY DH event this year at Moelfre so don’t miss out!

Moelfre is, as most of you already know one of the most fun places to race in the UK with high speeds and fast, flowy corners guaranteed to deliver thrills for the whole weekend.

The day starts on Friday with Downhill and 4X practice. Then on Saturday we have a packed day of more Downhill practice and 4X racing. We have an alcohol licence for the Saturday and Sunday nights along with a live band on the Saturday. After a night of indulgence, Sunday is set to be a great day of Downhill racing. Then, for those of you who have the stamina and some energy left, Monday will be an Uplift day before your journey home.

Race format:

Friday: DH & 4X Practice – DH only £20.00 – 4X – free
Saturday: DH Practice & 4X racing – DH only £20.00 – 4X – £20.00
Sunday: DH racing – £35.00
Monday: Uplift Day – £20.00

Commentary again will be World Cup Commentator Dan Jarvis for both DH & 4X.

Catering is also taken care of and check back soon for further details.

I raced the last round at Moelfre and it was good fun with amazing organisation and 2 good tracks to practise on. Last time the legendary Farmer Jack made an appearance, so you never know you may catch him at this round making it worth the Drive down !

Brendan Fairclough joins the Monster Energy/Specialized team alongside Sam Hill for 2009 !

Today Specialized announced that Brendan Fairclough would be joining the Monster Energy/Specialized team for 2009. Brendan has had plenty of good results previously such as 5x National British Champion, 2006 Junior Champion and also finished 14th overall this year in the Uci Dh cup. Sam and Brendan will both be riding the Demo 8 to start with, but are going to help develop a new Dh machine throughout the year. Both riders will most definitely do well in the Downhill scene next year and both expect to get good results.

This is what Specialized marketing manager Scott Sharples had to say about the new team and riders:

“Sam and Brendan are brilliant riders with great track records. They are a perfect match for the Specialized suspension engineering team and their top-notch innovative bikes,” Sharples said. “Sam has a reputation for pushing his bike to the limit and ripping up the most demanding track like nobody else. Lucky for us, he’s chosen the Specialized Demo as his weapon to win back World Championship status. With Brendan also on-board, ready to regain the podium for himself, this will be an awesome combo deal.

Sam hill also Seemed very please with the new team:

“I wanted to ride for Specialized because we share the same goal and that’s to win races—they are really capable when it comes to building and testing new products and striving to be the best,” he said. “I had a good feeling about all the people there, and it’s cool that everyone is into riding bikes, and they are all passionate about it. I’m definitely excited about the future and what myself and Specialized can achieve together.”

To find out more log on to www.specializedriders.com for the latest pictures and news of the team!

Thanks to Specialized for the pictures.
